Forza Motorsport for XBOX is a racing simulation video game. Players compete in events around the world using real licensed cars on a variety of real tracks. The game features an arcade mode, designed more for fast-paced racing play, and a career mode, which is geared towards long-term play as you progress.

Career mode includes several racing disciplines, ranging from racing regular commuter cars to those in racing series such as Super GT and Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, as well as other sports car racing series. To help players acclimatise to the simulation style of racing, features such as ideal racing lines, anti-lock brakes and traction control can be applied.

There are 231 cars in Forza Motorsport, ranging from the Honda Civic to super sports cars such as Enzo Ferrari prototypes and Le Mans racing cars such as the Audi R8. There are nine classes of cars, going beyond standard production vehicles, to sports and high-performance cars, to purpose-built racing vehicles. Each car can be upgraded and tweaked with a large number of accessories and parts.
