The game is set in Ancient Egypt during the Ptolemaic period. Players take on the role of Bayek, a skilled medjay, an ancient Egyptian protector and assassin. The main storyline focuses on Bayek's personal revenge and uncovering the conspiracy behind the murder of his family. Throughout the game, players will travel through the vast open world of Egypt, which includes monumental buildings such as Giza and Alexandria, and explore life in this historical era.
