Xbox one Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is an action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was first released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in September 2013, but was later reworked and released for Xbox One (and other platforms) in November 2014.

The game is set in and around the city of Los Santos in the state of San Andreas, a parody of modern Southern California. Players are free to explore this world either on foot or using a wide variety of vehicles.

"Grand Theft Auto V" is unique in that it has three playable characters: Michael, a former professional bank robber; Franklin, a street gangster initiated into the world of organized crime; and Trevor, a violent and psychopathic criminal. Players can switch between these characters during most missions.

Gameplay combines traditional open-world elements of the Grand Theft Auto series with new elements, including the ability to plan and execute heist missions. In addition to the game's main story, the open world also features many side activities such as participating in leisure activities, completing side missions and discovering hidden treasures.

GTA V has become one of the best-selling video games of all time.
