Although it may seem like it at first glance, this is not the usual heroic RPG we know from titles like The Witcher, Skyrim or Gothic. Don't expect any dragons, goblins or other supernatural creatures. Nor does your hero Henry possess superhuman strength or the ability to cast spells. In short, the whole game tries to show the 15th century period before the Hussite wars as realistically as possible. Your hero, Henry, is an ordinary blacksmith's son who has little experience of life, but as time goes on he learns new knowledge and skills that will make it easier for him to succeed in his future tasks. You can increase these skills using the RPG-specific skill tree. The game has a clearly outlined main storyline, which is also supplemented by a number of additional side quests.
Starting from scratch with the hero

Your hero Henry is an ordinary blacksmith's son who is initially driven forward primarily by a desire for revenge. Gradually, the boy who can't even grip a sword properly at the very beginning can become a skilled warrior who can't be cornered even by a band of armed bandits. The typical RPG skill tree offers you the possibility of specializing in various fields in addition to the usual increase of life, strength or stamina points. Gradually you can become a reliable apothecary, a skilled alchemist, a cunning merchant or even a stealthy thief.
Authentic environment

As Henry, you will find yourself in the Czech lands in the 15th century, specifically in the period before the Hussite Wars. You will move around the villages and towns around the Sázava River. According to the surviving records of the time, models of buildings, the layout of towns, clothing and, to some extent, the strange behaviour of the inhabitants of the time have been created as accurately as possible. The game is accompanied by period music and beautiful graphics. All these elements together ensure a perfect gaming experience and the feeling that you are really in medieval Czech lands.
Important details

Unlike a regular RPG, there are new details to start focusing on. It's not enough to just put a few bits of food in your inventory and travel carefree, as the food may eventually spoil, you'll get poisoned and die. Similarly, you cannot travel in any clothing, as even that can play a role in conversations with citizens. You can also choose the way you present yourself in public, and people's behaviour and, for example, the price of goods when haggling can continue to evolve from there.

New techniques in close combat

A very controversial topic in the game is undoubtedly the close combat controls. The controls are different from what you have been used to in other games so far. But that doesn't mean it's bad. On the contrary. The controls are only as good as you are. You'll certainly have to practice this new way of controlling, but the moment you get comfortable with it, you have a big advantage over your opponents. Unlike similar games, you won't even be unlocking new moves and weapon tricks. You can do them all, you just won't be told what combinations to use at the start. Over time, however, you'll learn all the techniques and become a little more confident in close combat.
Optional playthrough

Like every game, this one has a main storyline that you should let guide you. On the other hand, there are also a number of side quests that can provide you with the necessary experience, gold and skill acquisition. If you don't do any side quests and only follow the main quests, you will spend over 50 hours playing the game. On average, you will spend around 70 hours of game time with your hero Henry completing side quests.
