Elden Ring is an action RPG developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game, which was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, was created in collaboration with fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin, who provided the material for the game's setting. Elden Ring is scheduled for release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on February 25, 2022.


Elden Ring takes place in the realm of Earth Between, sometime after the destruction of the titular Elden Ring and the scattering of its shards, the Great Runes. Having been adorned with the Ring and the Erdtree that symbolizes its presence, the realm is now ruled by the demigodly descendants of Queen Marika the Eternal, each possessing a shard of the Ring that corrupts and taints them with power. As the tainted - exiles from the lands of the Between who have lost the grace of the Ring - called back after the Shattering, players must traverse the realm to eventually find all the Great Runes, recover the Elden Ring, and become an Elden Lord.
