Battlefield: Hardline is a first-person shooter game developed by Visceral Games in collaboration with EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released in March 2015 and is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Hardline takes a different approach to the traditional military setting of the Battlefield series by focusing on police units and criminal gangs.

Set in a fictional city in the United States, players take on the role of police officer Nick Mendoza as he tries to uncover corruption and crime in his city. The single-player campaign consists of several episodes that resemble television crime series. The game offers traditional first-person shooter elements along with police elements such as the possibility of making arrests or using non-lethal weapons.

The main draw of Battlefield: Hardline, however, is the multiplayer mode. The game offers a number of unique modes that put players in the role of police officers or criminals. Some of these modes include Heist, where criminals must steal money and escape while the cops try to stop them, and Hotwire, where players must steal and maintain control of certain vehicles.

Battlefield: Hardline on Xbox one retains traditional elements of the series such as environmental destruction, large maps and a wide selection of weapons and vehicles. The game also introduces new features such as the ability to provide medical care or ammunition to teammates without having to be a medic or supply clerk, which increases teamwork.
