Gears of War 4 is a tactical third-person shooter game released for Xbox One and Windows PC. It is the fourth installment in the popular Gears of War series, developed by The Coalition (formerly known as Black Tusk Studios) and published by Microsoft Studios. The game continues the story, which is set in a dystopian sci-fi world known for its action, brutal combat and distinctive cover system.

Gears of War 4 takes place several decades after the events of the previous trilogy, and players take on the role of J.D. Fenix, son of the protagonist of the previous installments, Marcus Fenix. The story follows J.D. and his friends as they try to fight a new threat called the Swarm, which are altered enemies that pose a serious danger to the human race.
