Acquire's sequel to Way of the Samurai 2 for Playstation 2 is designed to offer the authentic environments, in-depth sword combat and cause-and-effect role-playing system featured in the original game, while improving the graphics and interface. Characters can acquire up to 60 different swords and, with the right equipment and training, perform more than 100 different special moves. As in the original game, the hero must choose his own path through the story, and the decisions he makes can fundamentally affect the outcome of the story.

The adventure begins when the player, as a lone samurai warrior, arrives in a small, remote village that is in the midst of great internal strife. The traditional leaders of the village favor loyalty to the feudal power that is coming to the fore throughout the land, while a group of rebellious cutthroats known as the Aoto vehemently oppose acquiescence to regional authority. The player, as the main character and hero of the story, must bring resolution to this conflict and peace to the city, in the way he thinks best.

There is a realistic cycle of day and night and various strategic elements. You can talk to different characters, receive quests and buy new items. Decisions are influenced by relationships with different groups. There are 60 swords, hammers and clubs to choose from, keeping in mind the variable level of quality and durability. You can perform offensive and defensive moves, and even special actions. You can upgrade or upgrade your swords in the shops to suit your fighting style.
