Player control

Real Player Motion technology: an all-new animation system works by comparing the trajectory of movement in each frame, allowing FIFA to offer the smoothest gameplay yet with fast-response controls. New motion capture techniques and frame-by-frame animation transitions ensure that the game faithfully replicates real football. Real Player Motion technology is the main source of improved fidelity of each player's movement and instantly pushes the level of authenticity upwards.
Player personalities: six new footballer archetypes and new player mapping technology give players a unique identity and set them apart. For the first time ever, players' actual movements, body proportions and characteristics will be reflected in the movements of their virtual counterparts, making them one step more believable on the pitch. Ronaldo's characteristic sprint, Sterling's unique turns and Robben's distinct hand movement - all this and more is now recognisable at a glance in FIFA 18.
A redesigned dribbling system: In FIFA 18, you'll be able to move confidently against defenders knowing that the best players can change direction in a split second. New dribbling mechanics open up more room for players to get creative in one-on-one situations. Showcase more characteristic touches or turns with even smaller radii and go on the offensive more dynamically than ever before.
Reaction: Creative use of ball skills, contextual processing options and redesigned dribble control mechanics give players new options when creating offensive actions even in small spaces. Team styles and positional play

New positional behaviours: with more freedom of movement, your teammates monitor the situation on the field and react accordingly - making coordinated forays forward or filling open spaces to keep supporting the attack. The new positional thinking ensures that your team is evenly spread across the field and provides more opportunities to read the game in time and space.
Team styles: FIFA 18 includes a rich array of familiar tactical styles of play from several global teams - the AI will now be able to instantly recognise the tiki-taka of some of Europe's top teams or the high pressing used by Premier League sides. You'll notice the change in defensive and offensive action whenever you choose a new club or a different opponent.
