Xbox 360 Mass Effect 2 is the sequel to BioWare's successful role-playing game Mass Effect. It was released for the Xbox 360 in 2010. This game continues the story of Commander Shepard and his efforts to save the galaxy from a threat called the Reapers.

At the beginning of the game, the Normandy, the ship Shepard serves on, is destroyed and Shepard is announced dead. However, a secret and controversial organization called Cerberus revives him and offers him command of the new ship, the Normandy SR-2, to continue his mission. The main goal of the game is to assemble and prepare a team of elite specialists for a "suicide mission" against a hostile race called the Collectors, who are allegedly working with the Reapers.

Like the first game, Mass Effect 2 allows players to influence the plot through decisions in dialogues and actions during the mission. The game also expands on the first game's combat system, offering a larger selection of weapons, better system coverage, and additional tactical options.
