Star Wars: Battlefront II is a third-person action shooter game with the ability to switch to first-person view, released in 2005 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, PSP and PC. Developed by Pandemic Studios and published by LucasArts, the game builds on the success of the original 2004 title Star Wars: Battlefront. Battlefront II expands on the concept of its predecessor by adding new playable factions, maps, and most importantly, unique campaigns and game modes.

The game is set in the vast Star Wars universe and allows players to take part in famous battles from the film franchise, including the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War conflicts. Players have the opportunity to control different classes of infantry, pilot vehicles and flying machines, and even take control of key characters from the Star Wars world such as Jedi and Sith.

One of the most notable new additions over the first game is the addition of the "Rise of the Empire" campaign, which follows the story of the 501st Legion of Clone Troopers and their involvement in the pivotal events that led to the formation of the Galactic Empire. This campaign gives players a look at the transformation of the Republic into the Empire from the perspective of a clone trooper.
