Dead Island combines first-person action with a focus on melee combat, character development and customisation of a wide range of weapons. This is all put to use in a gripping and gritty campaign following a dark story inspired by classic zombie movies. The campaign can be played in co-op mode with up to 4 players.

Terror. Violence. Madness. Confusion. A holiday paradise turned upside down. A tropical island turns into a place of total chaos after a mysterious zombie boom. Cut off from the rest of the world, the player's only chance is to fight to the death and find a way to escape the island.

The story takes place in the open world of a tropical island, where hordes of various hungry zombies lie in wait for the player. The player tries to complete various exciting tasks in the holiday paradise. Due to the lack of weapons and ammunition, the player must rely on using all possible found objects. He then uses these to make weapons for self-defense and attempts to succeed in an intense zombie face-off. There is a wide variety of items to find, which over time allow you to turn makeshift weapons into terrifying instruments of destruction.
